Healthier Summer Celebrations

On my journey to Conscious Living, I have made it a priority to replace the preservative filled products with natural, organic and gluten free choices - especially during holidays like Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day when these processed foods seem to dominate the menu!

Potato Chips are a big part of these celebrations and I have the best recipe for the ultimate green chips - Kale Chips!

To be honest, I have never loved Kale. I don't know why, I just never did until... my boyfriend Aaron made his Kale chips.

I love this recipe so much, Aaron can barely get them out of the oven and on to the counter. My sons eat them right away too! They never make it to the plate!

Kale Chips

Preheat the oven to 420 degrees and line a cookie sheet with foil.

I wash all my kale with a vegetable wash.

Then I spread some coconut oil on the pan and lightly on the Kale.

Sprinkle some sea salt over the Kale as desired.

Then it goes into the oven for 20 minutes. Let the tips get a little brown. It makes the Kale extra crunchy.

...and enjoy!

After you taste these, you'll never want to eat regular potato chips again. I healthy dose of greens with the flavor of a guilty pleasure... what more can you ask for?

  1. Looks divine. Have you tried this with other kale varieties? Is there some other kind of oil one can use other than coconut (i.e. olive oil) I MUST find the flaked sea salt! Not a plethora of gourmet foodstuffs to be found in NW Ohio, but I'm sure it's easily found online!!! Thanks for sharing this!! <3
