Hemp Protein Shake

It is rare that a day goes by that Aaron, my boyfriend, doesn't whip up a batch of this delicious whey protein shake made with homemade hemp milk.

Hemp Protein Shake

Hemp milk:

Hemp seeds
4 cups of water
vanilla extract

Aaron starts by whipping up a batch of hemp milk. This will make approximately 4 cups of milk so have a container ready to store what have left over after making your shake.

Start by pouring 4 cups water into your blender. I have a Vitamix. It's heavy duty and great for everyday use.

Add one cup of hemp seeds...

One teaspoon vanilla.

Blend it all together.

If you like your milk sweetened, add on date before you blend.

Have a taste of the freshly blended hemp milk. It's tastes just like regular milk - only much better for you!

Now for the shake.

Ingerdients ( makes one large shake or two small ones )

Hemp milk

Whey Protein - we like Jay Robb's. It is truly the best tasting - just like it says on the bag!
1-2 scoops depending on the amount of protein you need.

3/4 cups frozen strawberries

1/2 cup frozen blueberries and a couple of dates

1 tsp Spirulina

Rinse the blender and add 1 1/2 cups of hemp milk

The batch we made here is more than two shakes. Use the directions above for a smaller amount.

Add the protein powder.

Add the berries.

Add one teaspoon of Spirulina.

Blend until smooth and enjoy!

Wow! Fantastic right?!

  1. Wow! That sounds delicious & nutritious. I wonder if i can obtain the ingredients where i live....

    1. If not, you can use almond, rice, soy or regular milk. It's sooo good!

  2. Hi, Tracey! I am so happy that you have started this blog. Lauren has always been my favorite character on Y&R. I am on my on journey toward "Conscious Living" & I know that your blog will inspire & motivate me to continue & persevere to live a happier & healthier life. It is so easy to get bogged down in the craziness of a fast paced life. Someone mentioned your jewelry collection. I didn't know about this. Where can I find it? I love jewelry!

  5. OK Tracey - I've gone green!!Was feeling a bit low on energy this am because the clocks went ahead one hour here in Canada overnite,so I assembled the shake ingredients and blended away.I've tried protein powder drinks before but this is the best!Afterwards, I powered through my workout like the Incredible Hulk LOL!
Do you use hemp seeds in salads or other dishes?

    1. Gelsey- So glad you liked the shake and that it made you feel great. We just tried hemp milk ice-cream tonight. So good!! And I use hemp seeds on my quinoa.

  6. Okay - I just ordered my first bag of Jay Robb Whey Protein....I'm in Canada so it was a bit of a challenge finding it. I might cheat on this a bit and use Almond least at first!! I'm looking forward to trying this!!! Thanks!

    1. Try it with whatever you like but I've tried all the "milks" and hemp is my favorite. In my opinion, I can't taste the difference between hemp milk and regular milk in this shake. Let me know what happens!
